THE QUALITIES OF LIGHT: THE STORY OF A PIONEERING NEW YORK CITY PHOTOGRAPHY GALLERY

December 14, 2019 – May 9, 2020

This exhibition celebrating the legacies of LIGHT (1971-1987), a significant early photography gallery, and will focus on characteristics identified by those who visited, worked, showed, and were impacted by the gallery. There are many aspects to the show and my work will be included in the flat file contemporary section of the gallery. Each work will be available for patrons to view and examine in detail the prints matted as was the standard for LIGHT gallery. Some artists previously represented by LIGHT are Harry Callahan, Aaron Siskind, Frederick Sommer, André Kertész, Emmet Gowin, and Garry Winogrand. Finally, at the end of the exhibition the prints will be accepted into the CCP’s permanent collection, one of the worlds finest collections of photographs.
